A guy I have never met wants to go to the movies with me?

I would be wary. Any guy that is that obsessed can't be good news. He is obviously not catching your drift if you are really giving him the run around for a while. If you have it on good authority that he's a tool I would focus on finding a guy that you want to be with. Otherwise, I would suggest you invite him to join you out with friends, that way you can see what he's really like in person with others around to avoid an uncomfortable "intimate" situation.
